Terror Tacos, St Louis, Missouri
The purple and blue lighting at Terror Tacos made a fun atmosphere, so it was excellent for setting a the theme for the terror inside! The restaurant had lots to look at and excellent music, if you enjoy punk rock. We ordered two things here to try out. The first was the Tofu Terror Taco! The second: the crunchy wrap version of the Tofu Terror Taco!
The Tofu Terror Taco(!) had good texture, it wasn't that spicy, and the cabbage helped bring out the crunch of the taco. The tofu was very crumbly and didn't have much resistance, so the cabbage was certainly needed for texturing. The lime they added helped the flavors not fall flat, and the zest of the lime helped bring out all the flavor of the tofu and other flavors of the taco as well.
The crunchy rap version of the Terror Taco(!) could use a little bit more sauce because it wasn't too spicy and the extra spice would have helped add more flavor to the dish. Also the meal was basically tofu scramble in a tortilla, which is not very original. The restaurant might of had a better chance with adding fried tofu instead, so the dish would have more crunch, because the scrambled tofu was not contributing well to an overall texture.
If you order takeout, which is what we did, the food becomes soggy quite quickly. It doesn't have the same aesthetically pleasing looks when it sits in a container for too long, so we don't have any pictures that we personally took. Thank you to Terror Tacos for the photos above.
